Miss Havisham — Fine Art Giclée Print

About the Work

This portrait of Miss Havisham, Charles Dickens’s unforgettable woman frozen in the ruins of a wedding that never was, explores the unraveling edges of heartbreak, illusion, and obsession. Seated at her vanity, she is surrounded by the relics of a life suspended in time: a decaying cake shrouded in spiderwebs, wilting flowers collapsing under their own sorrow, and a mouse caught in a trap—small, tragic echoes of her own entrapment. A bearskin rug sprawls at her feet, while a swan with a broken neck rests in her lap, its beauty turned suddenly and violently still.

Built from layered textures, fragmented imagery, and unexpected symbolism, the piece reimagines Miss Havisham not simply as the eccentric figure of Dickens’s novel, but as a woman consumed by a story she could never escape.
