This one-of-a-kind piece merges digital and traditional collage techniques, creating a playfully opulent re-imagining of a classic pin up in this decadent bayou-inspired swamp scene. This piece marks artist, Natalie Armstrong of ¡Fifi Gi!’s first collaboration with the wonderful and magnificent lampshade designer Ivy from Ace of Shades! Inspired by functional art and lampshade designer, Ivy from Ace of Shades, "Gator Gypsy" features a gator-taming gypsy queen lounging gracefully upon her cherry red chaise lounge surrounded by her fabulous vintage lampshades of course, in a scene straight from the bayou!
The entire piece measures 16" wide and 35" tall. The collage comes within recessed wood paneling that is decoupaged with tissue paper featuring Ivy’s lampshade designs. The FUNCTIONING LAMP on the top is securely attached to the back panel and cut in half to perfectly fit to the wall. The shade itself also features decoupaged designs from the lampshade designer’s work and is adorned with black lace trim and fringe for that extra touch of extravagance.
The 800 lumen bulb features adjustable lighting (soft white, bright white, neutral white, cool white, and daylight) to suit your mood and is securely attached to the canvas. The bulb can either be battery powered (remote included) or charged with the accompanying chord that has been discreetly placed within the shade for this option. (Please note: the battery powered option is powered at 200 lumens and lasts up to 3 hours per charge and is rechargeable via USB or in a socket).
