Below, a weathered couch—once perched outside a 1930s–1950s blues club—rests beside lily-speckled bayou water, holding the history of nights steeped in music and memory.

In the water, the ghostlike figure of Eartha Kitt twirls her dress, echoing Holiday’s distant melody. Though different in style, both women transformed adversity into art and carried a fierce, expressive power that shaped American music and performance. Their spirits meet here in a quiet Southern dusk, turning the bayou into a space where legacy, resilience, and jazz still linger in the air.
